Happy 1st Birthday Adeline!

The Norris crew hosted the majority of the fam (we missed you Jack and Eric!) to celebrate sweet Adeline's birthday this weekend.
This little one is about as sweet as they come. I can't believe she is already a year old! (We will pretend I just asked her how old she was before snapping this one.)
So fun getting to see these girls...
A girl after our own cheese-dip-loving hearts! She should join us at Sol Azteca soon.
Contemplation... Is this how I do it?... I think I like this stuff... Yum!...
We love sweet Laney-bug.
Campbell got a gift too, and I'd say her boots were a big hit.
Shout out to my amazingly talented friend and former roommate Claire for making this precious dress for Adeline... that's right folks, it's reversible. Isn't she ridiculous? She has a business (thirtyone13) with a friend of her's if any of you are interested in taking advantage of her talent.
We attempted some family photos outside, but the sun was bright and with 3 babies it is hard to get a good one these days. This was the best it got (on my camera at least).
Thanks for hosting us Brian and Lizzie!
Happy Birthday sweet Adeline!

Back on the Plains

Lake Martin + AU + college friends + LSU win = fabulous weekend!
Walker reliving the glory days with some neighboring tailgaters...
Love a good reunion...
Do you think these two love each other?
The lake brought good times, great food, and beautiful sunsets...
Sunday evening brought with it a painful return to 1/2 marathon training which we are still recovering from (and we aren't even to the really tough ones yet!).

The Great Smoky Mountains

Watch out folks, it's a long one. Walker's uncle Mark graciously gave us access to his cabin in Gatlinburg for several days, and we certainly made the most of it!

Each morning I woke up to this...
The Norris crew was able to join us for a couple of days and I had a blast taking pictures of their sweet family...
Our cabin was about 30 minutes outside of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, and as much fun as we had relaxing at the cabin we decided to venture into the city one day. The strip in Gatlinburg honestly reminded me a little bit of a large fair, but it was fun to see, and we made the most of it.
The drive to and from downtown Gatlinburg was beautiful, so it was hard to complain about being in the car.
 This one makes me laugh.
After the Norris clan headed back home Walker and I hiked up to Laurel Falls. It was a relatively easy hike that had beautiful views of the mountains and leaves along the way.
Our last morning there we drove to Cade's Cove. It was BEAUTIFUL. My camera doesn't do it justice. Totally worth the drive if you are ever in the area.
Walker is excellent at taking cheesy tourist photos.
The highlight of the 11-mile scenic drive was when we saw this guy/girl. I hopped out of the car to try to get some clear pictures, but apparently my excitement (along with the lack of a great zoom lens) prevented me from having a steady hand so they were a little blurry. Nonetheless, I was about 15 yards from it at one point, surprisingly not at all afraid, and it was pretty awesome to see something like this in its natural environment.
It was a fabulous vacation week. Tons of relaxation and rest. For those still reading, thanks for hanging in there and have a wonderful weekend!

Race for the Cure

Saturday Walker and I ran in the Birmingham Race for the Cure. It was sort of a last minute decision (i.e., Friday afternoon), but we are so glad we did it. There were over 16,000+ runners/walkers with several thousand more spectators. So neat to see so many people supporting such an amazing cause!
Happy Monday!
