A whirlwind trip home.

Last weekend brought a much anticipated weekend home to celebrate the wedding of two dear friends. Jennifer and I go way back,
and Walker and I have spent many a double date with those two since they first got together. The weekend was perfect to the last detail, and I would expect nothing less from the uber-organized Jen and her mom! My photography was sporadic all weekend, but here is a brief glimpse. I can't wait to see what her photographer captured of the weekend - Jen, you were a stunning bride!

Rehearsal dinner at the Capital City Club (with another lifetime best friend!)...
At FBC Montgomery waiting for the ceremony to start...
At the reception (with Sissy and Judge! Aren't they the cutest?)...
The reception brought reunions with two of the most wonderful people that came out of my time at Auburn (technically Lucy is the offspring of one of those, and although I missed the rest of the Elliott clan, it was a blast seeing this sweet girl!).

Congrats Jen and Pat! We love you and are so excited for you!

The following day brought reunions with more special people, most of which I have known for as long as I can remember. Griffin was showered with beautiful gifts, and Walker and I left overwhelmed with how supported and loved he is already by his Montgomery friends and family. Thanks to all of those who made the afternoon so special! (photos below stolen from Lele)
And now his little (unfinished) nursery is filled with things like this - we love it!
It was a quick but wonderful trip back South (minus the sitting on the runway in Atlanta for over 2 hours and and arriving back home after 2 am with a full day's work ahead part of course). Next whirlwind weekend home comes mid-June for the much-anticipated wedding weekend of Matt & Anne!

Catching up...

Figured I'd keep up the average of 1 post a month and bring folks (that aren't already) up to speed... maybe one of these days if/when life slows down I can become a regular blogger again?

In old news, we are having a BOY! We were first and foremost excited and relieved to have a healthy 18 week old on our hands, but in all honestly I had my eyes glued on that screen looking to see little man parts. I had convinced myself I wanted him to be a boy so bad that I had earned myself a baby girl, but alas! Boy parts! Hurrah!
I'm not sure why I wanted him to be a boy so bad. I sort of thought it was because I grew up somewhat of a tomboy and loved (and still love) sports. My dad thinks it is because I want a mini version of my husband. I think the latter might be the more accurate :)
In slightly more recent news, not only is he a "he", but he also has a name - Griffin Walker - Griffin has no particular significance other than it was a name we both loved when we stumbled across it, and after sitting on it for a few weeks and testing it out we decided that it had stuck.

In the meantime, we have both been working like crazy and using what little spare time we have to sleep and carve out time for friends here in Cincy.

We do have a couple of amazing and packed weekends ahead - both of which involve tailoring bridesmaids dresses to fit my ever-blossoming figure. This should be interesting...

Can't wait to catch up with so many of our friends back South in a couple of weeks! More photos to come then I promise...

Through the years...

While I was home I spent some time gathering photos for Matt & Anne's slideshow - in doing so I stumbled across some gems from the past that made me laugh and smile. Behold - the hair, skin, fashion, and orthodontic stages of our past - I think Baby F will certainly have some good laughs at his or her parent's expense one day!

Pitt + AL + Houston

Pittsburgh
Several weeks ago Walker and I made the quick trip to Pittsburgh for a mini-med-school reunion. Somehow Fran, ML, and myself each had the same weekend off, and with Pitt being pretty much midway between Cincy and DC, we certainly took advantage! Fran generously played host to all of us in her trendy apartment which only added to the fun.
The face you may not recognize belongs with Fran, and he gained everyone's wholehearted approval pretty much instantly.

Long drive south.
Long being the key word here. My drive to Montgomery only furthered my dislike for long road trips and my subsequent love for flying. Conveniently, I did get to make several fun stops along the way in Nashville and Birmingham - including time with long-time best buds Christy and Jennifer, college roomies Krisha and Krisan, and another mini-med-school reunion with Meg and Stacey. My destination was Montgomery, and it brought quick but wonderful time with family to celebrate Matt & Anne. I'm so thankful I was able to attend their fabulous Engagement Dinner and spend some time with them before the upcoming nuptials in June.

Cannon is here!
And conveniently decided to make his appearance while I was out in Houston visiting the Elliott clan. As evidenced by the photos below, those two clearly have no problems producing attractive children, and Cannon fits right in with his beautiful sibs. It was an experience I will not soon forget, and many thanks to Reid and Claire for letting me be a part of things!

I'm now back in Cincy, reunited with my hard-working-ready-for-busy-season-to-be-over husband, and ready to enjoy my last few days of vacation before returning to reality. Thanks to all who made my visit to TN/AL/TX so wonderful!
